Leah + Josh

Contigo Ranch | Fredericksburg, TX

Leah and Josh tied the knot at the beautiful Contigo Ranch on a beautiful {and, windy} May afternoon in Fredericksburg. The day started with bubbly personalities and bubbly drinks as I greeted the bridesmaids and said hello to Leah before I started photographing the details. This fun wedding party as half of the group were Aggies and the other half were from Kentucky, where Leah and Josh currently live!

I loved how laid back this group was. My second shooter, Jenna, and I were saying it seems like everyone in the “horse world” are just naturally more calm and chill… probably because horses are so therapeutic! Leah and Josh live very busy lives. Between work, family life, real estate and the equine world, Leah and Josh do a wonderful job to balance and still make time for each other and their relationship.

Although Josh and Leah had to move their wedding last year because of Covid, I still got the opportunity to do a site visit with them and their moms early last year. A few days before the site visit, I received a call from Leah asking if I could bring my camera and take a few photos of her with her mom at the ceremony site since her mom had been diagnosed with cancer. She wasn’t sure the condition her mom would be in at the wedding so she wanted to capture those memories. Leah’s sweet mom had planned every detail of their wedding and had such a beautiful vision for the day. A few days before the original 2020 wedding day, Leah’s sweet mom passed and went to be with the Lord.

Leah wanted to honor her mother and continue with the wedding day her mother planned and move the wedding back to this year. This day had been a long time coming and every detail was absolutely perfect.
